Small companies take the lead in Chemical Footprint Project results

"Mark Rossi, director of Clean Production Action told Chemical Watch that the primary reason for the small companies’ high performance is that they 'have integrated the selection of inherently safer chemicals and materials into product design.'

'Thus, they are more likely to be able to measure their footprint, track changes in use, and encourage the use of safer alternatives,' he added.  

Smaller companies are also 'generally committed to greater transparency,' Mr Rossi said, and are therefore more likely to disclose chemicals in their products and verify their responses, as well as share their CFP responses and scores."
